That’s quite interesting… I like those old pics, I never really looked into my family’s past, I wonder if I could find some info about my ancestors, too bad they lived everywhere :S
Carol:
I can’t thank you enough for listing two of my digital publications in your list. How very kind of you, and what an honor!

Stopping by from comment about Commentluv plug-in you left on my blog — I think it’s a great plug-in as well.
But to your 10 best genealogy blogs, I must admit I am a tad envious. My paternal great-grandparents came from Ukraine to Canada in the late 1800s. A great-uncle has done a remarkable job tracking down as much family history but sadly most of the documentation was destroyed through the history of the Russians gobbling up all of the surrounding countries to create the now defunct USSR.
While my great-grandparents, my grandparents and even my parents did not have an easy go in Canada, at least they were spared from the Stalinist Holodomor where between 2 to perhaps 10 million Ukrainians were starved to death while filling grain quotas for Stalin.
My great uncle recently travelled back to Ukraine and visited the small town of Zamosty from which our family originates. The town no longer exists.
Thanks to people who are interested in genealogy, future generations will know of their origins.

Love the list! There are a few on here that I’ve visited before, as well as some sites that are completely new to me that I see I need to check out. Thanks for providing the info!
