Create A Family Tree In Power Point: Is It Worth It?

I am not real familiar with making presentations in Power Point. Do you think this would actually be beneficial to someone for a family reunion, or any kind of genealogical gathering? For those of you who are creative in a different direction, such as digital scrapbooking, Jasia at Creative Gene has done a guest post on Shades of the Departed about that very topic. It is very detailed and I think that might be a little more up my alley. Read Digital Scrapbooking for Genealogists. It's a great article and I give it two thumbs up!

Enrich Your Reunion With Life Stories

I know there are die-hard veterans of family reunions who read this blog, but what about those that are just getting interested in genealogy and knowing more about their family history? I found a game that would be perfect for a family reunion or any family gathering. It's called Life Stories and you can purchase it through my Amazon affiliate link below, or just search for it on the web. Here is what Amazon has to say about the game:

Product Features

  • No age boundries, generations of family will talk, laugh and share opinions together as they recall memories, reveal hopes and dream in response to stimulating questions.
  • An ingenious game that opens a pathway to each other's heart and soul.
  • A communication game unlike any other.
  • Award winner!

Product Description

Editorial Review The art of family storytelling often needs a jump-start. Life Stories is just the game to bring extra voltage to your family gatherings. It's noncompetitive and comfortable to play because there are no right or wrong answers, only stories, thoughts, and dreams. Players advance by rolling the dice, taking a card and following directions like: "Where would you live if you could live anywhere?" or "Describe one of your best or worst teachers." If the card is something players would rather not talk about, they pick an alternative, such as "Ask each player to imitate a snore." Players finish at the board's center, where stories and positive comments are celebrated. Children under 10 will enjoy this game more in the company of adults. This is a Parents Choice Award winner. --Lee Strucker
