A Child Was Stuck With This Name

I’ve been doing some genealogical research for a friend of mine for her Barlow family. Sometimes, when I can’t go any further on a line, I just do a Google search for the name, date and location of the person to see what results I get.

One result was the Barlow Genealogy website and in scrolling down the page to see if I could find any mention of a George O. Barlow born in 1836 New York, I found this rather humorous name. Look at the third child in the list!

That’s worse than on of my cousin’s named Truman Dillinger Yates. His daddy named him because he was the first born. Truman said his dad never got to name another one of his children.

  1. yeah that’s an unfortunate name.

i thought quentin heratio batemore was bad, but just goes to show you that some people have a natural penchant for giving their children unusual names.
