One of the many benefits of having your family tree on Ancestry is that people can find your tree and see your photos to determine whether or not the photo they found might be someone from your family line. That is exactly what happened to me this week.
I received a message on Ancestry from a lady named Karen who had found a photo of who she thought was Burl and Maude Uttley, but Maude’s parents John and Elizabeth (Wright) Breedlove! I suspect that someone didn’t know the family value of the photo and so it ended up in an antique store in Paradise, California. Not so surprising though, since Maude Uttley died in Fortuna, Humboldt, California in December of 1966.
John Breedlove died in 1908 in Missouri, and his wife Elizabeth died three years later in 1911, same location. In looking at my family tree it looks like only Maude and her younger brother Russell Coke Breedlove moved to California. The rest of the siblings stayed in the Missouri-Arkansas area.
And so, the hunt for more Breedlove family documentation begins again!
