CASU7 detachment

This evening as I was looking for more information on my dad’s old Carrier Aircraft Service Unit (CASU) and coming up will little or nothing, I thought I had better share with the world the picture our family has of CASU – 7, Detachment G.
The really neat thing about this picture is that all of the men are named, along with their rank. My dad, William Gale Yates, is in the back row looking all suave and debonair with his cap cocked jauntily over his brow. Dad would have been 24 years old when it was taken.
I’m not sure exactly the sequence of events but it seems to me that this CASU 7 might have been combined from CASU 3 personnel or vice versa. Anyone with better information, please leave a comment and let me know.
Dad was stationed in New Caledonia with his CASU during World War II. His rating was Aviation Machinist’s Mate 2 (AMM2).
