Entrecard, Genealogy and Networking

Entrecard, Genealogy and Networking. All of them have a place in family research. How does Entrecard enter into the equation, you ask? Entrecard can bring hundreds, if not thousands, of visits to your blog or site each day just by virtue of you belonging and participating in their free service. If you are serious about connecting with others interested in genealogy then why not take advantage of the fact that the majority of people will have an interest in their family history some time in their lifetimes.
One thing that I would suggest to Entrecarders at large is not to limit yourself to your own special interest niche. If you are a photography blog like FeeFiFoto (whom I highly recommend) then you might be advertising, or accepting advertising from someone like me who writes a genealogy blog. Why? Because the first thing that a genealogist craves is photos of their kin. If you have been looking for a quality photo gift to share with your family members, take a look at the items offered by FeeFiFoto! Imagine Grandpa's mug on your coffee mug! Priceless!
iPentimento is listed at Entrecard under History, but I have had my advert Entrecard accepted by several different genres including Gamil, Entrecard Surfer, Phoenix Radio, Gatlinburg Vacations, EleanorBlog, The Girlie Geek, FeeFiFoto, and Everything Everywhere. That is just this month! To all of them, I say a resounding "thank you!". To those of you who might be reluctant to allow adverts outside your niche, I ask "Why?". Entrecard is about networking, so get your blog seen in unusual place!

thanks for the blog
great blog, very interesting information.
I entirely agree that we should consider advertising and accepting ads from outside our own niche. I reserve the right though to refuse any I consider to be either against something I stand for (even if I don’t shout about it) or if they are trashy in some way. I feel I am endorsing a site if it is in my sidebar.
Please don’t let that put you off applying to me though
I’m not as hard to please as I may sound.

I completely agree. Be open minded yet cautious. There are some *strange* blogs at EC

I have done alot of geniology and have found that mostly you meet those who are looking for info like you, yet you should always take percautions.
