Family Tree Kids

I wish they had all these resources when I was a kid, back in the Stone Age, when dirt was young. All things in good time though. Did you know that there is a page for kids on Family Tree Magazine’s site? It is appropriately called Family Tree Kids.

Sections include Family Tree Fun, Family Detective, Junior Toolkit, and also an area for Parents and Teachers that will guide you in getting your youngsters interested in their family history. I did shudder a little at the blub at the bottom of the Family Detective section. They suggest a scavenger hunt in Grandma’s attic. Not in my attic! I keep all the good stuff (pictures, documents, keepsakes, etc.) all down here in the house. I don’t want any mice munching on my pearls. :)

Have you gotten your kids involved in your family history? Tell us how! Who is in your Life Stories?

  1. It’s a great idea to let kids learn about genealogy. There is no greater pleasure in learning your own roots.

  2. Now, THIS is cool. We live in a great age.
