Summer Vacation Slide Show Pictures On iPentimento
I hope you enjoy these photos I took while on our car trip to Iowa in July. It took three days to get to Iowa, and three to get back, and there was not a lot of time to take pictures other than out the window when we were going about 80 mph.
Aren’t the garden art pictures just wonderful? We took them in the side yard of the iron works shop, not thinking about anything other than capturing the beauty of the art. The artist happened by, and we complimented him on his craftsmanship. Duh, silly us, we didn’t think about it that he might have thought we were trying to nab his ideas. So, as an appeasement, here is a link to AJ’s Copper Garden website. We didn’t know there was a studio further up the street. BTW, if you look close at the coneflower you can see the bee on it just loaded with pollen.
The 1880’s Dances With Wolves Town is just off the highway and not hard to get in and out of by car. I would have liked to take more pictures or spend more time, but the light was wrong and we had to get home to Washington!
My husband is from Clinton, Iowa, and that is where the riverboat pictures were taken. I love the one of “Tom and Huck”, which was really an accident. I didn’t know the two people were in the picture until I got home. Jim’s sister works on the Mississippi Belle II riverboat as a manager. They are currently moving the casino from the boat to a newly built one on land and there will be a hotel too. Right next to a cemetery…

A casino next to a cemetery? They should make the slot machines look like cemetery monuments.
