The Passing Of A True American Hero: Ed Freeman
(I’m not sure where the photo originated. Please let me know so I can give the photographer credit)
I didn’t see it in my local paper, the Kitsap Sun (much to my chagrin and dismay!) but today I received an email from a cousin alerting me to the passing of a true American hero on August 20, 2008.
His name is Ed Freeman, and he was a Medal of Honor recipient for his actions during the Vietnam War. You can read the citation for this honor here. Ed lived in Bosie, Idaho with his wife Barbara and was honored by President Bush in 2001 with the Medal of Honor. Ed was 80 years of age at his passing.
His C/O was Bruce P. Crandall, who lives not too far away from me in Manchester, WA, and is also a Medal of Honor recipient (2007).
